- Split the pot assembly by unscrewing the top and bottom sections.
- Remove the coffee basket / funnel.
- Fill the bottom bowl with cold water to just below the pressure relief valve. Hot water may be used to speed the process.
- Refit the pots' coffee basket / funnel and place approximately 7g of fine ground coffee per cup.
- Tamp down coffee, lightly but firmly. Be careful not to over compact as the water will not flow through the ground coffee properly.
- Screw the espresso pots' top bowl onto the bottom assembly.
- Place the pot on a stovetop and wait until the water is pressurised from the bottom bowl to the top section via the compacted coffee grind.
- Once the flow of water has ceased, the sound made by the espresso pot will change from whooshing to spitting.
- Remove the pot from the stovetop.
- Pour and enjoy.
